This Breath of the Wild card deck is a 48-card hanafuda set, each card illustrated with pen and letterpress-printed linoleum block. In a traditional deck hanafuda cards are divided into twelve suits for the months of the year, and illustrated with flowers and plants from each month; this deck reassigns the twelve suits to creatures, items, and locations from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Play Koi-Koi or Hachi-Hachi with the Divine Beasts, the tattered flags of Hyrule Field, Guardian Stalkers, and of course, the most important creature of the Legend of Zelda universe, Horse.
Drawn, printed, and laminated with archival inks & glue. Comes with a custom box and a small guide sheet for the card deck and the game of Koi-Koi. Each card is 3.5x5.5 cm; the box is 4x5.75x6.5 cm. Handle gently and protect from sunlight for greatest longevity.

I grew up in the apartment above my mother’s letterpress shop, doing linoleum projects as a kid and typesetting jobs with her since high school. After four years majoring in art, running that shop and working in letterpress, printmaking, and book arts has been my full-time job for nine years. For personal projects I do a lot of broadsides in lead type, and work with digital, ink, and linoleum or wood block illustration.
