Auction Title Totoro and Friends - 3D Felted Wall Art
Alt. Auction Title(s) --
Auction Donator(s) Johanna Iles Art
Auction Description Inspired by the magical characters and forest in My Neighbour Totoro, I have created a 3D scene using needle and wet felting techniques.

This artwork has taken many months to craft. It is sewn onto a plywood board and is ready to be framed and find a special home on your wall.

The figures, background and leaves are sculpted from ethically sourced wool and natural fibres.

The claws, noses and whiskers are handmade from apoxie clay and a tiny sculpted acorn is bursting from a hole in little Chu's bag.

Measurements : 48cm (L) x 38cm (W) x 9cm (D)

Totoro stands at 24cm

Care: It is highly recommended that the artwork is framed to protect it. Keep away from pets and moisture. Dust can be removed gently with a soft makeup brush.

Craft-Along?
Crafter Bio I am an artist living in New Zealand along with my husband, two children, 3 rescue cats and dog.

After the craziness of 2020 we made the big decision to move from our home in Cornwall, England all the way to Northland, New Zealand.

I originally trained and worked as a physiotherapist which I loved, but after taking a break to look after my children I discovered the creativity of my childhood again.

I love new creative challenges whether through 3D sculpture, drawing, painting or in an adventurous after-school art class. I work in various mediums but enjoy the textural quality achieved when using fibres to create life-like sculptures and images.

It is fantastic to be part of the craft-along for my 3rd year and support a charity close to my heart.
