Approaching art as alchemy is an important aspect of Jamie’s creation process. From working with naturally dyed fibers to turning scraps of yarn and fabric into intricately woven finished works, every piece is about the transformation: Lead into Gold
Jamie is a self–taught fiber artist with a formal education in studio art and art history from Austin Community College and Texas State University. She currently works for Austin, TX based non-profit Imagine Art as an Americorps Artist-In- Residence where she works with and teaches adult artists with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities.
